White Post Farms is proud to partner with Save Giraffes Now (SGN) in support of Kamuthe Community Wildlife Conservancy!

Kamuthe Community Wildlife Conservancy is a 76,000-acre wildlife conservation area located in Garissa County, Kenya. The conservancy hosts a number of different wildlife species including the endangered Reticulated giraffe as well as Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, bat-eared fox, hippo, greater kudu, dik-dik, and warthog (among others).

To safeguard these magnificent creatures, in 2023 Kamuthe and SGN established the conservancy’s first team of community scouts entrusted with patrolling the conservancy to monitor the animals and protect them from illegal poaching. This scout program has led to a significant reduction in such poaching activities. It has also improved community livelihoods and increased awareness on the importance of wildlife conservation.

White Post Farms sponsors these essential Kamuthe community scouts, ensuring the sustainability of this dedicated team of 11 brave men and one very brave woman who fight daily to protect not just the giraffe but all wildlife that call Kamuthe home.
